Born in Portland, Oregon, on January 8, 1949, Schedeen was once an extremely shy child. She recalled, \u201cI was so introverted as a little girl I would hide under the skirts of the dining room table and just listen to the adults.\u201d Drama classes helped her gain confidence, leading to a successful acting career with appearances in popular shows before landing her iconic role on ALF from 1986 to 1990.<\/p>\n
Although audiences knew her as the calm Kate Tanner, Schedeen admitted she was quite different in real life. \u201cKate\u2019s on an emotional even keel\u2026 But Anne Schedeen can become a lunatic. I have very big lows and very big highs. I\u2019m also a whole lot more interesting.\u201d<\/p>\n
Schedeen also devoted herself to painting, sculpture, handmade jewelry, costumes, and charitable work.
