Days later, a rash appears, and the pain can become intense.<\/p>\n<p>Many think shingles only affects older or very sick people, but that\u2019s not true. The virus may already be inside you, waiting.<\/p>\n<p>Shingles comes from the same virus that causes chickenpox, Varicella (chickenpox). After recovery, the Varicella-zoster virus stays dormant in nerve tissue.<\/p>\n<p>It can reactivate when the immune system is weakened by stress, illness, or aging, leading to Shingles.<\/p>\n<p>Early signs often include burning, tingling, or stabbing pain in one area, followed by a rash that appears on one side of the body along a nerve path.<\/p>\n<p>Even after the rash fades, pain can linger.
