Tony Wilson, one of the key figures of the British music scene and co-founder of the legendary group Hot Chocolate, has died at the age of 89.<\/p>\n
The sad news was confirmed by his family on social media, where his children said their goodbyes with emotional words, describing him as an exceptional artist and a devoted parent.<\/p>\n
According to reports, Wilson passed away at his home in Trinidad.<\/p>\n
Known as a bassist and songwriter, he was one of the main pillars behind the group\u2019s success, alongside vocalist Errol Brown.<\/p>\n
The duo is behind some of the biggest hits in pop and soul music, including \u201cYou Sexy Thing\u201d and \u201cEmma,\u201d songs that remain timeless classics to this day.<\/p>\n
Formed in the late 1960s, Hot Chocolate quickly grew into an international musical phenomenon.<\/p>\n
The band made history as one of the first British groups with a majority of Black musicians to achieve major success in the American market.<\/p>\n
With a unique style that blended soul, rock, reggae, and disco, they dominated the music charts for more than a decade.<\/p>\n
After leaving the group, Wilson continued with a solo career during the 1970s and released several albums, although he did not reach the same level of success as with Hot Chocolate.<\/p>\n
